ROARrrr-Ole Two-Feet’s Great Discovery, tells how the courage of
Maureen, a little village girl helps to bring the divided worlds
of beasts and villagers together. Through the process she helps
the king beast, Ole Two-Feet learn a very important lesson while
discovering who he really is. It is a sensitive and powerful
story; what Madison’s Capital Times Newspaper calls, “musical
theater with a message”. Not only is the play about reaching out
to others, embracing differences, and accepting those who are
not like us-- it's also about feeling comfortable with who we
are and not wishing we were someone else. It's a message
relevant to both kids and adults. ROARrrr will be featured in a
national documentary- DREAM THE FILM, that will be released
during the fall of 2008. In September 2007 three scenes from
ROARrrr were filmed in Madison Wisconsin’s Overture Center for
the Arts.

Aldo Leopold Nature Center will offer a unique and unforgettable
celebration of the season. This event is a family-friendly
outing offering a blend of activities found nowhere else in
Madison, including music, drama, culture, and unique indoor and
outdoor nature activities.
The evening begins with hearty hors d'oeuvres as Celtic music
enchants with its ethereal and enchanting melodies.
As twilight descends, guests will hear a faint beating of drums
in the distance. As they assemble outside the beat grows louder
and faster - then suddenly stops - silence! Anticipation rises
as a lone piper is heard in the meadow - other bagpipers from
the Madison Pipes and Drums and Celtic Brigade Pipe Band, in
full regalia, join him as they march up the trails to serenade
the guests and lead them to the bonfire wood. Suddenly the
woodpile erupts into a magnificent bonfire and lights up the
night sky with its brilliance, and the threat of old man winter
is driven off for at least one more day.
This fundraising event will feature an unforgettable evening of
enchanting and unique entertainment featuring:
* Hearty Hors d'oeuvres and Decadent
Desserts

Ever Wonder What Your Baby is Thinking? Or Why Your Baby is
Crying? Using the BABY SIGNS® Program gives babies a way to
“talk” with their parents before they can talk. Babies can
communicate about the world around them long before they have
mastered their verbal speaking skills! Babies and their
parents can use simple signs to communicate important things –
like being hungry or thirsty, hot or cold, afraid or sad – often
a full year before babies could otherwise speak.

the Movies
Stoughton Library 304 S.
4th St., Stoughton
Thursday, September 25 at 3:30 pm
http://www.stoughtonpubliclibrary.org
Thursday afternoon, September 25 at 3:30 pm, the Stoughton
Public Library will be showing a movie based in fantasy about
three children who are relocated to their uncle's ancient house
where, with the help of a house elf, they find chronicles of all
the fairies, elves, gnomes and other underworld-type creatures
that can affect the lives of humans. Their Uncle Spiderwick had
the knowledge that every human should know to survive with these
creatures and the children begin to explore the grounds to
discover interactions with these creatures.
A delightful tale dealing with the mindset of children who have
had some major change in their living conditions at the same
time they discover that there is a whole world out there for
them to explore. Rated PG, the movie lasts about 97 minutes.
This, and other movies to be shown this season, is sponsored by
a grant from the Stoughton Optimist Organization. They also
sponsor the refreshments to be served free of charge to
attendees.
If you need special accommodations to attend this movie, please
contact 608-873-6281 as soon as possible.

31ST ANNUAL WILLY STREET FAIR: SEPTEMBER 20TH AND 21ST
Thirty-one great years of service to the City go hand-in-hand
with 31 years of fantastic music, delicious food, big surprises,
and community celebration!
The 31st annual Willy Street Fair is almost here!
On September 20 and September 21, Willy Street will once again
become the city's largest block party with seven music stages, a
multitude of impromptu street performances, fantastic foods and
drinks from across the globe, fabulous arts and crafts, a
legendary parade and an irresistible community raffle with over
200 prizes.
Kicking things off will be the return of the Saturday Willy
Warm-up from 1:30 pm to 9:00 pm on the 900 block of Williamson
St. This year, there will be 3 stages; the Kickoff Stage, DJ
Stage and our brand-new Folk Stage for those who like to look,
listen, and most importantly, dance, dance, dance. All the great
food and original crafts that visitors expect from the
traditional Sunday event is on hand, just in smaller doses.
Sunday's festivities begin with the wild, colorful and eclectic
parade sponsored by the Greater Williamson Area Business
Association at 11:00 am, and end at 7:30 pm after the much
anticipated raffle drawing. This year, there will be nearly 150
vendors lining the street and five fantastic music stages
throughout the day. The music will include local and regional
bands, as well as prominent artists from all over the world. If
you're interested in a fantastic day of great music wherever you
turn, meeting old friends, making new ones, enjoying great food
and crafts from around the world, and having a beer or two, the
Willy Street Fair is the place to be and be seen!

Babies and their
parents can use simple signs to communicate important things –
like being hungry or thirsty, hot or cold, afraid or sad – often
a full year before babies could otherwise speak.

announce that Dora the Explorer will attend the Fit Kids Fun Run
and Celebration this coming Saturday at the Monona Terrace.
Group Health Cooperative, the presenting sponsor of the program,
will be bringing the popular children's personality and will be
joined by Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, Edgewood College mascot
Eddy the Eagle, Edgewood College student athletes and Maynard
the Mallard from the Madison Mallards Baseball Team.
"The Fit Kids (Fun) Run and Celebration is such a great event
for kids for a number of reasons," said Jordan Bingham, Director
of Health Initiatives for WSDC. "The cost to enter is free and
kids get to run around Capitol Square and finish on the Ford
Ironman finish line the day before the actual iron distance
triathlon takes place."
The run and celebration are the culminating events for the Fit
Kids Challenge, a free program aimed at keeping kids active over
the summer months. Nearly 500 kids take part each year. The
program started in 2003 and has grown each year. The aim is to
take it statewide and some pilot programs are currently being
run in both Manitowoc and Stevens Point.
"The summer program is a great way for kids and parents to learn
about physical activity together," said Bingham. "We've had a
pretty good turnout in Dane County and are trying to develop
ways to make the program work statewide. Right now anyone can
participate, regardless of where they live, but the program is
focused in Dane County."
